I still can’t quite believe it, but my baby brother Brian got married! I still can’t quite believe that he is a husband - he’s 10 years younger than me so I helped my mom take care of him when he was a baby and I was the only one who could rock him to sleep. I was so happy to participate in the wedding - consequently, I didn’t get to take a ton of photos but I did get to enjoy myself at the wonderful wedding. It was held in Hamilton, Texas - what a lovely country setting and views! Brian and Emilie I’m so happy for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness ( and some nieces and nephews for me, I’m ready to be an aunt)!

This is my other brother Jeremy, isn’t he cute? Hopefully, he will be next in line for a wedding!

This is my dad, A & M hat and all - my brother is an Aggie. Boo. I kid. Sort of.

I thought it was really funny that they arrived in the trunk of the car.

My handsome husband having a little drink.

Here is my baby brother Brian.

My husband again looking handsome.

I love this shot of the guys - my brother Jeremy is front left and my husband Mike is front right.

My grandparents - aren’t they so cute?!

Liezl and Tony made the trip to Texas from their home in Colorado to have a wedding ceremony and reception for close family and friends. They met in the Phillipines a few years back when Tony did some volunteer work there. Their friendship grew long distance and now they are husband and wife. I love their romantic story! What a beautiful, meaningful ceremony at Chapel Dulcinea and a fun, wine plentiful reception at Mandola Winery! Congrats Tony and Liezl and family!

Carrie and Dave have been fabulous to work with this past year. Beginning with their engagement photos some months ago and continuing with bridals and then wedding, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know them. They’re fun, quirky, and completely and totally made for each other. Carrie is a photographer as well and allowed me to play with her Diana camera and some film for her wedding! See the square shots below that resulted in this fun. Despite the rainy day, the weather cleared and the wedding went off without a hitch thanks to Gina with Clink Events. I loved the jewel tone color scheme and the personal touches! Carrie even surprised Dave with a special cake that he had no idea about! Carrie and Dave, I wish you nothing but the best!

Carrie just got married to Dave this past weekend but a few days before the wedding she managed to fit in some bridal portraits to her busy schedule. We started out at Hotel St. Cecilia where she had booked a room for her wedding weekend, and then went over to the Eastside. We had some challenges - the sky opened up just about the very minute I started shooting - but it soon passed and turned out to be in our favor! I love the way her photos turned out, they are fun, quirky, and creative - I think just what Carrie wanted! Congrats Carrie - next post will be your wedding photos!

Amy and Cuatro are getting married in Isla Mujeres, Mexico in December, but wanted to have some engagement photos done in Austin! They wanted something different, so they had the idea to take some photos at an art gallery. The kind people at the Wally Workman Gallery were nice enough to let us use their beautiful space for the first part of our shoot, and then we went downtown to the warehouse district for some more fun photos! Congrats Amy and Cuatro! And p.s. - Cuatro is the owner of Cuatro’s, a great bar and grill near the UT campus with really yummy, quality food - so check it out if you haven’t been. My hubby and I went before Amy and Cuatro hired me for their engagements and were very impressed!

I had the pleasure of going out to Barr Mansion for the second wedding in a row a few weeks ago, and I have to say that it’s such a gorgeous location that I could never tire of it! And top that off with a fun, easy going and very much in love couple - Hayley and Pete, and I’m one happy photographer! Hayley and Pete’s wedding was a lot of fun - Pete was quite the dancing fool as were many of their guests which made for fun photos! And of course they had an adorable flower girl and ring bearer. I’m feeling very lucky to have such great clients and congratulations to Hayley and Pete!

I had the pleasure of attending and taking photos at the surprise merger party for Clink and Soiree. The party was held to celebrate the merger between two of Austin’s top wedding and event planning companies, Clink and Soiree. I’m very much looking forward to working with the ladies at Clink that I’ve already had the pleasure of working with, and to forming relationships with all of the other Clink gals! Of course, their soiree was very stylishly held at the new furniture store Threshold (I’m drooling over all of their awesome goods) and was complimented by a beautiful cake by Michelle’s Patisserie, lighting by Ilios, food by Primizie, awesome clink-tini’s, etc. It was a fun night, and congrats to Denise, Tanya, and Gina, and all of the other fab ladies at Clink! Here’s to success and happiness in your new endeavor! Clink!

I had the pleasure to be a second shooter with my good friend Diana Lott again this past weekend, and what a wedding it was to be a second shooter at! It is surely to be talked about for the rest of the year and on - the Wonka wedding! It was the brainchild of my friend and amazing coordinator Gina with Clink Events - and the whole theme of the reception was a Willy Wonka wonderland complete with towers of candy and a chocolate river, brightly colored amazing florals and linens, and tons of amazing details and stationary. It was a photographer’s dream. The amazing Amy with Merveille worked tirelessly to do some amazing whimsical florals, and my favorite cover band, the Spazmatics, played the reception! The ceremony was held at April’s family land on the lake, and then the couple and guests took boats to the reception at Lakeway. My good friend Stacy with SMS photography also assisted Diana so we had a good time shooting together for almost 12 hours that day! Here are some of my favorite photos - I’m sad I didn’t get to shoot any couple portraits or a ton of details at the reception because I was on the party barge with the guests heading to the reception when all that was happening…but I still got some fun shots. Also, shout out to Ilios Lighting - if you want your photos to really be enhanced and your ceremony-reception to have a big impact, hire a lighting designer! And lastly, I thought I had seen it all in terms of grand exits but NEVER silly string. Wow, that was crazy. I was getting silly string bits out of my hair all night!

I had such a great time photographing Melanie and Joe’s engagement session - thanks to Gina with Clink for sending them my way! I love how they decided to make it so personal, including their pup in the shoot and going all around their neighborhood, Crestview, for photos. We were sure to take some photos in Joe’s beloved old car (I think it’s an 90something Honda?) and also at their house that they are renovating in Crestview! And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Amy’s Ice Cream, also in the area! Congrats Melanie and Joe, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in February!
