waiting…

So if you come to my home studio for a consultation this is what you might see…Linus and Moo at the back door looking very, very sad…waiting to be let in. I had to take a pic.

So if you come to my home studio for a consultation this is what you might see…Linus and Moo at the back door looking very, very sad…waiting to be let in. I had to take a pic.

So I gave myself a deadline for my save the date cards - I wanted to make them fun and colorful - just like I hope our Mexico wedding will be! I decided to put Linus and Moo in a “mexico” theme and take a few pics. Here is the resulting save the date card after many, many revisions. Of course I had to give Mike the final pick so he didn’t feel left out
Also, here are a few outtakes that didn’t make the card. Moo is a total ham for pictures (he makes it easy) and Linus is ridiculous. I’ve been taking pics of him since he was a baby so you’d think he’d be used to it by now - but I think he just likes to make me work for it. The resulting pic of them licking their licks was a total fluke - I was holding up cheese to get them to look up for the photo!
This is the stamp for the envelope!

Brooke and Nash were married at Laguna Gloria in early March. The weather was perfect and the setting was so pretty. Thanks to the help of Soiree Event Coordinators, the event went off without a hitch. Guests had a great time and I loved all their personal touches (the Krispy Kreme doughnut tower with Dr. Pepper drizzle - the grooms favorite, and the root beer sundae station with Maker’s Mark). Congrats Brooke and Nash!

I had the chance to shoot Pam’s bridal portraits recently - I had such a great time and I was so inspired! We started at my house for a few shots and then we took off driving around East Austin looking for fun, different settings. We found quite a few spots I’d never shot at before and Pam was a great subject - beautiful of course and up for anything! We even stopped at a laundromat because I’ve always wanted to take bridals in a laundromat (something about them) and Pam told me that she did a book on laundromats when she was at UT!! It was fate! And then, we stopped at an abandoned building to take a few pics and the numbers above the door were her birthdate. Creepy! Thanks to Lacy with Posh weddings for coming along to help out!

I recently got engaged (on Valentine’s Day!) and I promised I would post some pics of my ring! Here it is - I love it! It is a 1.6 carat aquamarine stone set in a very modern white gold setting. I photographed it on the paper of notes that Mike wrote out before the proposal. I will cherish that paper always! And for those who have asked - we’ve set a date and location! We’ll be getting married on Saturday January 17th 2009 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico at Mosquito Beach Hotel. I stayed there last year while I was in town and I fell in love with it - it is a small boutique hotel right on the beach and it is very modern and stylish. I love it!

I had a blast photographing Sarah and Andrew’s engagement session a couple of weeks ago! Sarah picked a really fun location for the first half of the session - South Austin Speed shop. We played around in the junkyard in back for some fun pics with old rusty cars. It is always fun to try a new location! Then, we moved onto South Congress for some more fun shots. Andrew is a ringer for Major Applewhite, which is funny because I shot the wedding of Major and Julie years ago! What a cute, fun couple. I can’t wait for their wedding!
I had so much fun photographing the girls of Elite Weddings recently! They are a hoot and it is impossible to take a bad pic of them because they are all gorgeous. Here are some of my favs!
