It is always so much fun to photograph a wedding in a new place! Lacy and Robbie had me come down to Kemah, Texas to photograph their wedding. Lacy grew up in Kemah and so it was only natural to get married in her hometown. The waterside setting was so beautiful, and Lacy and Robbie were awesome! As soon as I saw that Lacy had turquoise Manolo Blahnik shoes, I knew she was a girl after my own heart! The celebration was so much fun, so much in fact that they extended the reception because no one was ready to leave. And Robbie’s brother had a surprise slideshow that was one of the most amazing and touching I have been able to see. It was a great end to a fabulous night! Congrats Lacy and Robbie.

I loved the Scottish traditions that Michelle and Derrick incorporated into their wedding events! It was the first time I’ve seen the groom wearing a kilt to the wedding, and they also had a bagpiper playing, and they cut the haggis at the start of dinner. It is always fun to get to photograph something a little out of the norm. What a fun, beautiful wedding it was. You can’t go wrong with Austin 71, as it is such a beautiful location, and Michelle and Derrick were so in love with each other I felt that it really came thru in the photos. Congrats!

This is my second shooter Michael actually laying on the ground to get a shot. He rocks!!

At the end of this month I’ll be traveling to Playa del Carmen, Mexico along with my good friend Diana Lott to shoot Natalie’s wedding. I am really looking forward to it, especially after having the chance to meet Natalie at her bridal shoot which we shot at Big Red Sun and all around East Austin. We had a great time ending at Rio Rita where we shot a few last pictures and had a drink! Looking forward to the wedding!

Jill is starting an interior design business and decided it would be great to have some photos of herself for her new website and promotional materials. She saw my work after I did an engagement session for her best friend Kristy. Despite a vey muggy, drizzly morning I think we got some fun shots around the Soco area!

I am honored that Jessica and Dan’s wedding which I photographed along with my second shooter Gia Pham last year has been published in the latest issue of the Knot Real Weddings Texas Magazine. Check it out!

Stephanie and Jarrod were married at the Mansion on Judge’s Hill recently in a gorgeous courtyard ceremony. They were so excited to be getting married and so in love - Jarrod even serenaded Stephanie during the reception (Jarrod is a member of a local band, Paperwork, that plays here in Austin). They played a couple songs at the reception and I was really impressed, so check them out! Also, they did the hava nagilah at the reception which always makes for fun pictures - though sometimes it is slightly dangerous for all involved but worth it! When you have some slightly to very drunk groomsmen tossing the bride and groom around in chairs without arms, it always makes for some fun! Congrats Stephanie and Jarrod!

Jennifer and Kelly braved the record high heat to take a few engagement pictures with me recently. Jennifer and Kelly met in culinary school (they are both chefs and are in the process of opening their own individual restaurants currently, along with planning a wedding!) That is some dedication and hard work! I’m really looking forward to their wedding in October where they are sure to have amazing food, I bet. Thanks for bring troopers, guys.

Alysson and Yemboado are getting married in October at San Michele and I’m very much looking forward to shooting their wedding! We photographed their engagement photos near and around Progress Coffee on the Eastside of town and then we went over to Mayfield Park for some more botanical shots. Alysson and Yemboado braved the heat and some ant bites for their pictures, and a trip down from Baltimore! Congrats guys!
