alex and dylan: a horseshoe bay wedding

Alex and Dylan held a fabulous ceremony and reception at Horsehoe Bay Resort. I’m going to share a few of Alex’s bridal photos first – which we did very last minute the week before the wedding. We went all around the eastside of town looking for colorful walls and textures! One of the most memorable things about Alex and Dylan’s wedding was the most amazing wedding gift that Alex gave to Dylan, which was a brand new truck! What a surprise and what a lucky guy! The ceremony was so pretty – I especially loved how they used sand instead of a unity candle – and the reception was so much fun complete with a cigar roller and a photobooth! Congrats Alex and Dylan!

Blessing’s bridal session at Laguna Gloria

I had so much fun shooting Blessing’s bridal portraits! Blessing used to be my second shooter for a period of time, years ago, so I was so happy when she asked me to shoot her wedding (coming up in March) and her bridals! I came down with a horrible stomach bug the day of the shoot so we had to reschedule for the next day, which brought some moody weather which made for a different atmosphere for the photos! My good friend Diana Lott came along as my assistant on the shoot since I hadn’t been feeling well the day prior, so check out her blog for her favorite shots from the bridals! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day!

Melissa was such a trooper to brave the 100 plus record heat for her bridal portraits at Austin 71! Of course, I couldn’t take a bad photo of her, she’s just gorgeous – and her dress is to die for. Sample sale girls! Thanks so much to April of Petalworks for providing Melissa’s two bouquets – what a lucky girl! I can’t wait for Melissa’s winery wedding in September!

carrie’s bridals : austin bridal photography

Carrie just got married to Dave this past weekend but a few days before the wedding she managed to fit in some bridal portraits to her busy schedule. We started out at Hotel St. Cecilia where she had booked a room for her wedding weekend, and then went over to the Eastside. We had some challenges – the sky opened up just about the very minute I started shooting – but it soon passed and turned out to be in our favor! I love the way her photos turned out, they are fun, quirky, and creative – I think just what Carrie wanted! Congrats Carrie – next post will be your wedding photos!

sara’s bridals : austin bridal photography

My first bridal session of the year with Sara was so much fun, and her mom and her sister in law Meridith, who is a past client, were great to have along. We shot the bridals at the always beautiful Laguna Gloria, and Sara was just stunning in her dress. Here are some of my favs from the session, and I can’t wait to shoot Sara’s wedding in July!

Carolyn’s bridals with her daughters Ashley and Angela

Carolyn is getting married at the end of this month and she had the great idea to do her bridal portraits with her daughters, Ashley and Angela, who are also her bridesmaids in her wedding. We ended up with a beautiful day at Laguna Gloria for the photos – and Ashley and Angela were natural models (taking after their mom of course!)

amy’s bridal session : houston bridal photographer

I photographed Amy’s bridals in Houston (first time in Houston for bridals) last month. We had a lot of fun driving around Houston looking for photo spots (Amy specifically wanted a city skyline shot). I loved her teal belt and cute teal flats – one of my favorite colors, and they go great with her gorgeous red hair. Congrats Amy!

kristen’s bridals

Kristen is getting married this weekend. After a delay with her dress and alterations, we were able to get her bridal portraits taken before her wedding at one of my favorite locations, Austin 71. Thanks to Ann Dodson with Austin 71, we were able to change locations at the last minute and I think it was the right decision. The classic and architectural lines of Austin 71 worked great with Kristen’s simple dress and classic beauty. Congrats Kristen and I’ll see you this weekend!

sarah’s bridals

I’ve been wanting to shoot a bridal session at Roadhouse Relics on South 1st for some time now – so I held a blog contest for a free session (if participant paid the location fee) and Sarah was the bridal session winner. I wasn’t disappointed. Sarah was absolutely gorgeous and Roadhouse Relics was a great vintage, fun location with lots of cool spots for pictures!

At the end of this month I’ll be traveling to Playa del Carmen, Mexico along with my good friend Diana Lott to shoot Natalie’s wedding. I am really looking forward to it, especially after having the chance to meet Natalie at her bridal shoot which we shot at Big Red Sun and all around East Austin. We had a great time ending at Rio Rita where we shot a few last pictures and had a drink! Looking forward to the wedding!
