jeremy and lindsay: rustic, natural engagement photos in gruene, texas

Where can I start – Jeremy is my little brother and Lindsay is his beautiful fiance! They were engaged in October in Colorado and my husband Mike and myself were able to be there to witness and document it! I’ma lucky big sister to have been able to witness and document the proposals of both of my younger brothers to their lovely ladies, as well as the engagement sessions! Here are some favs from their session – which we shot all around Gruene, Texas to get the rustic natural country look that Lindsay loves. Their wedding will be held next summer, date TBD, in Colorado!

We were very excited to find this Colorado license plate since their wedding will take place in Colorado, which is their new home. They just moved to the Denver area from Houston!

Christy and Dave’s austin engagement session

I had such a fun time shooting Christy and Dave’s engagement session on South Congress! Despite the chilly, blustery day, they were troopers. They are a hoot and they sure do know how to make each other laugh! I’m really looking forward to their wedding this coming fall – it’s sure to be amazing!

Ashley and Remmy’s austin engagement session

Ashley and Remmy are planning a beautiful backyard wedding for May, and I can’t wait to shoot it! I had such a great time on their engagement session, and I love their story of how they met! It is definitely one of the most unique stories I have heard – Ashley was at a gas station pumping gas…Remmy was about to drive away and noticed Ashley. He took a few deep breaths, pulled up to her, and asked for her number! She gave it to him, and he called just a few hours later and asked her out! Fast forward to four years later and they’re getting married!

Tracey and Tanner

Tracey and Tanner were troopers during their engagement session! The day was chilly and the wind was like I’ve never seen, but it really didn’t seem to phase them at all! They were even troopers when I suggested we go to a more unusual location for the second half of the session – the old abandoned airport where we found some cool spots. Thanks to Tanner’s dad for holding our massive umbrella and to April Klotz with Petalworks for organizing the session, being the umbrella holder and trying not to blow away, and for styling Tracey’s windblown hair! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session!

I was so excited to shoot Evelyn and Collin’s engagement photos recently. We started out on South 1st Street at the Greetings from Austin sign and then worked our way over to the Capitol building, since it had special meaning to them. They were so much fun to work with and Collin was a big goofball which made for some cute photos. Here are some of my favorites. I can’t wait for their May wedding!

I’m a lucky girl to have been able to witness and document thru photographs the proposals of both of my brothers to their ladies. Brian proposed to Emilie in May of last year, and just a couple of weekends ago my brother Jeremy surprised his girlfriend Lindsay with a surprise trip to Colorado, and a romantic proposal at a beautiful scenic overlook in Rocky Mountain National Park. My husband Mike and I were lucky to be able to make the trip to Colorado with them, and to witness the proposal and celebrate with them. It was such a beautiful moment and I am so happy to have been there to witness it. Lindsay was totally surprised by the trip, and the proposal even threw her off her game! She had no idea that it was about to happen. I love surprises!

We had a fabulous long weekend in Colorado – we stayed in Denver and visited Rocky Mountain National Park and Boulder, and ate at some great restaurants and saw some beautiful scenery. And, to top it off, we managed some quick sledding as well as snowball fights (all coincidentally started by moi!) and we even made a snowman!

So, congratulations on Jeremy and Lindsay! I can’t wait for their hopefully Colorado wedding in the summer of 2011!

aly and rich: a vintage engagement session

When Aly contacted me wanting a vintage inspired engagement session, I was so excited! She wanted to go all out with it, props and location and vintage car and all, and I was all in! We ended up utilizing Star Hill Ranch for the location and Aly and Rich reserved a vintage limo from Vintage Rides of Austin. Aly got some cute vintage dresses and Aly and her mom worked to find all sorts of props for the shoot. I was a little worried that the relentless rain the day of the session would throw a big kink in our plans, but I actually love the challenge that the rain provided!

I had the chance to meet Tamika and Derrick in person for the first time at their engagement session – on a sweltering morning last month. Despite the heat, I had a great time taking photos of them together as well as some with their baby ever, quite possibly one of the cutest babies ever, baby DJ. Thanks to Sarah Lo with Red Velvet Events for her assistant in planning the session and also coming along with us that day to look after baby DJ and help out. Stay tuned for photos of Tamika and Derrick’s amazing wedding in a few weeks.

amy and cuatro : austin engagement photography

Amy and Cuatro are getting married in Isla Mujeres, Mexico in December, but wanted to have some engagement photos done in Austin! They wanted something different, so they had the idea to take some photos at an art gallery. The kind people at the Wally Workman Gallery were nice enough to let us use their beautiful space for the first part of our shoot, and then we went downtown to the warehouse district for some more fun photos! Congrats Amy and Cuatro! And p.s. – Cuatro is the owner of Cuatro’s, a great bar and grill near the UT campus with really yummy, quality food – so check it out if you haven’t been. My hubby and I went before Amy and Cuatro hired me for their engagements and were very impressed!

melanie and joe : austin engagement photography

I had such a great time photographing Melanie and Joe’s engagement session – thanks to Gina with Clink for sending them my way! I love how they decided to make it so personal, including their pup in the shoot and going all around their neighborhood, Crestview, for photos. We were sure to take some photos in Joe’s beloved old car (I think it’s an 90something Honda?) and also at their house that they are renovating in Crestview! And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Amy’s Ice Cream, also in the area! Congrats Melanie and Joe, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in February!
