How fun is this train themed photoshoot that I did with Hendrix and his mama Michelle and dad Thomas?! Michelle is the mastermind behind all of these fun shoots I have done for her family these past couple of years – we did the natural, organic family shoot when Hendrix was about 6 months old, and then colorful modern photos about 6 months ago, and now trains!

Wow, how time flies. It seems like just yesterday I photographed Collin as a newborn. Now, he’s 6 months old and crazy cute and expressive. I love this age – they are just chubby rolly cuteness. Here are my favorites from Collin’s 6 month session!

I’ve known the Harris/Edgerton family since 2005 when I photographed Mandi and Shaun’s wedding out at the Wild Onion Ranch. Since then, so much has happened and I’m so honored to have been a part of it personally and photographically for the Harris family! Mandi got pregnant, and Ella was born. Ella is now almost 2 1/2 years old, and Ella will have a little brother in the next month! And look how much Ella has grown since last year when we did their family portraits! Here are my favorites from their session out at the Wild Onion Ranch and with the Fiesta, one of the really cool vintage cars in their collection.

Thurman is a long time friend of my husband Mike – I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Pamela and their cute four year old Layla over the past couple of years. They are a fun, super hip family! We had a great time at Mayfield Park getting some family photos (their first official, I believe)!!

Thomas, Michelle, and Hendrix are great friends and Hendrix is Zoey’s buddy…they are only three weeks apart in age! I was thrilled when they asked me to do their family portraits again – I loved taking their photos this past spring! This time, they went for a modern grungy look and I loved it – totally up my alley. Here are my favs – isn’t Hendrix ridiculously adorable?!!

Laura and I go way back – we were study abroad roommates way back when we were in college. We shared a tiny room in a London flat for three months. We kept in touch, and when Laura and Ian got engaged I was honored and thrilled to be a part of photographing their wedding (in 2007). Then, along came baby Collin, born 10/11/11. He’s perfect and adorable and they are oh so in love with him. I remember that feeling well, it has only grown since Zoey was born. I hope I was able to capture some of that love, and I even got a little smile out of him!

Below are a couple photos of Laura and I in 1998 while studying abroad.

I really enjoy interacting with young families and capturing moments that I know are so important – especially since I’ve had Zoey because she makes me realize how important it is to capture her as she is at every stage of her childhood. I had such a great time photographing Beth, Jay, and their beautiful daughter Dillan (who just recently celebrated her 1st birthday) at their lovely home!

Michelle is a friend – we met thru our mutual friend Gina (with Clink Events) and we happened to become pregnant three weeks apart! So, Michelle’s completely freakin’ adorable baby boy Hendrix is three weeks younger than our Zoey. It was great knowing Michelle thru pregnancy as we could commiserate on the trials and tribulations of the pregnancies! So, I was so honored to take their first official family pictures! We had so much fun, Hendrix was so great and seriously – look at those cheeks!

Ella 1st Birthday at Wild Onion Ranch

What do you get when you combine a very creative grandma, momma, and auntie, fabulous food (2 Dine 4), an amazing venue (Wild Onion Ranch) and the cutest little girl named Ella? You get the most fabulous 1st birthday party this photographer has ever seen! Ella’s 1st birthday was an amazing winter wonderland with white branches and glitter everywhere, beautiful floral arrangements in shades of blues and pinks, an ice sculpture, amazing bites by 2 Dine 4, a cupcake bar, a vintage high chair, handmade hot chocolate favors, and a little snow baby named Ella. Happy Birthday Ella – you’re amazing and beautiful! Now, onto the pics!
